ARIA Winning Producer, Engineer, Mixer
ADRIAN BREAKSPEAR
Adrian Breakspear is a Sydney-based GRAMMY nominated and ARIA winning producer, engineer and mixer whose credits include Gang of Youths, Boy and Bear, Johnny Hunter, Ricky Martin and Pharrell.
Adrian began his career in London in 2001 and spent 11 years working in some of London’s most iconic studios, , including Miloco, Strongroom and Abbey Road. In 2012 Adrian moved to Sydney where for 9 years he was the in-house engineer for Sony Music, whilst also freelancing with artists across many genres.
In 2017 Adrian won the ‘Producer of the Year’ ARIA Award for his work on Gang of Youths’ sophomore album, ‘Go Farther in Lightness’. Adrian also has two ARIA ‘Engineer of the Year’ nominations, and a Grammy Nomination for his work on Pharrell’s chart-topping album, ‘G I R L’.
Adrian now freelances as a producer, engineer and mixer, working with local and international clients. Recent projects include the “Revisions” acoustic album for Josh Pyke (Eng/Mix), production and mixing for Alibii and Luke Kelly (both Sydney) and and writing projects with Alanna Vullo, Abby Christo and pinkiscool.

Adrian’s production credits include Gang of Youths, CLEWS, Johnny Hunter, The Vanns, Pacific Avenue and The Two Romans (Switzerland), as well as vocal production for The Meeting Tree, Example and Samantha Jade. Adrian is equally at home working with bands as he is arranging a song around an artist.

ENGINEERING
Adrian’s credits as a tracking engineer include not only bands and vocalists, but also string sections, 15 piece big bands, musical cast recordings and one-room acoustic live sessions. Vast experience working across a range of genres mean no instrument or ensemble is too daunting!

As well as a multitude of Australian and international independent clients, Adrian has mixed for Boy and Bear, Josh Pyke, Triple One, CLEWS and Good Dog (UK) amongst others.

So – we’re 3 months into 2018, and my life is about to get turned upside down (again) by Baby #2. Any day now…
2017 was easily my best year to date in music. The behemoth that is “Go Farther in Lightness” set itself a lofty target and even so exceeded all expectations. #1 on the Album Chart, 4 ARIA awards for the band, 3 entries in the Hottest 100 Top 10 and the band widely being touted as the best Australian rock band…
